Deendayal Port Authority proudly announces a historic achievement by Mr. B. Pranay Reddy, Senior Assistant Traffic Manager, working with Mumbai Port Authority who has successfully scaled Mount Elbrus (5,642 meters), the highest peak in Europe and Russia, on 16th August 2025 at 5:20 AM (Russian time).

In an unprecedented feat, Mr. Pranay Reddy became the first Government official from the Indian Port sector to carry and hoist the longest Indian flag measuring 79 meters, composed of 79 Indian flags, along with the Deendayal Port Authority flag, at the summit of Mount Elbrus.

Congratulating him on this remarkable accomplishment, Shri. Sushil Kumar Singh, Chairperson, Deendayal Port Authority, described that this is a symbolic gesture not only showcased his mountaineering spirit but also reflected his unwavering patriotism and deep devotion to India, as he chose to celebrate the nation’s pride on one of the world’s most challenging and tallest summits. It is “a shining example of courage, determination, and dedication”. He added that Mr. Pranay Reddy’s triumph reflects the true spirit of resilience and will serve as a powerful source of inspiration for many to embrace challenges with courage and perseverance.

Earlier, on 7th August 2025, the Chairperson Deendayal Port Authority Shri. Sushil kumar singh had formally flagged off Mr. B Pranay Reddy by handing over the 79-meter-long Indian flag and the Deendayal Port Flag as part of his ambitious Seven Summits Challenge Mission (Mission 1: Mount Elbrus). Shri Singh expressed confidence that Mr. Pranay Reddy would successfully accomplish the Mission of conquering the tallest peaks across all seven continents.

He stated that he would like to specially thank his Parents, Wife, Chaiperson and Dy chairperson Deendayal Port and Mumbai Port and Mr. Anand from 360 Explorer and my whole group who have sumitted on Mt Elbrus. Without all their support I wouldn’t have achieved this Feat.

Mount Elbrus, located in the Caucasus Mountains near the Russia-Georgia border, is a dormant stratovolcano rising 18,510 feet (5,642 meters) above sea level. It holds the distinction of being the highest mountain in Europe, the highest volcano in Eurasia, and one of the world’s most prominent peaks. Scaling Elbrus is regarded as one of the most demanding milestones of the Seven Summits Challenge—the quest to climb the tallest mountain on each continent.
