The Lake View International Film Festival, curated by FilmyBees Cine Club, concluded on a high note after two days of cinematic celebration at Aram Nagar 2, Versova, Andheri West, Mumbai, on December 21 and 22. Showcasing 36 international short films from 14 countries, the festival was a melting pot of cultures, stories, and creative excellence.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 attendees, including celebrated filmmakers, cinephiles, and Bollywood personalities such as Palash Dutta, Pravina Deshpande, and Kuldeep Sareen.
Palash Dutta’s production made a significant mark, winning the prestigious Best LGBTQ Film award. Among the notable guests were Suhail Abbasi, Producer and Chairman of Humsafar Trust, and Harpreet Singh, Co-founder of Gay Bombay, both of whom lauded the festival for its inclusivity and dedication to diverse storytelling.
Award Highlights:
Best Director of Photography: Monpol (Israel)
Best Performance – Female: Eka Demetradze for Monpol
Best Indian Women’s Film: Sach Minus Jhooth
Other award-winning films and their creators were celebrated for their outstanding contributions across various categories, further cementing the festival’s reputation as a platform for recognizing global talent.
The event was a milestone for FilmyBees Cine Club, which has consistently curated impactful film festivals and screenings. Founder Gary Panjabi emphasized the club’s mission: “Lake View International Film Festival celebrates storytelling that transcends boundaries, bringing together international filmmakers and local talent to inspire and create meaningful connections.”
As the curtains closed on this vibrant cinematic journey, attendees and participants expressed their excitement for next year’s edition, which promises to be even bigger and better.
