World MSME Day Exclusive | ProconnXt CEO S. Nithish Bharath Shares Insights on Hiring, Leadership and MSME Growth

On the occasion of World MSME Day, Hello Mumbai News Editor-in-Chief Aleem Shaikh had the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with S. Nithish Bharath, Founder & CEO of ProconnXt (Hiring Specialist), based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. During the interaction, he shared valuable insights into the evolving recruitment landscape, the critical role of talent acquisition in MSME growth, and how innovative hiring solutions can help startups and small businesses build strong, future-ready teams. He also spoke about entrepreneurship, leadership, and the importance of connecting skilled professionals with emerging business opportunities to strengthen India’s MSME ecosystem.

Hello Mumbai News

What inspired you to become a solo entrepreneur, and how did your entrepreneurial journey begin?

S. Nithish Bharath

My entrepreneurial journey began during the COVID 19 pandemic when my employer suddenly changed the compensation policy. Employees were informed that salaries would be paid only if the newly introduced targets were achieved—a significant change from the existing terms. It was an unexpected shift that many of us found difficult to accept, and as a result, several employees, including myself, decided to resign.

Rather than viewing that situation as a setback, I chose to see it as an opportunity to pause, reflect, and look at life from a different perspective. I believed it was guiding me towards something greater.

Instead of searching for another job, I decided to build something of my own. That moment became the turning point of my life, and that’s how Proconnxt was born.

Hello Mumbai News

As a solo founder, what have been your biggest challenges in building and scaling your business without a co-founder or large team?

S. Nithish Bharath

As a solo founder and more importantly, as an “Accidental entrepreneur” who entered business because of a life situation—I had no MBA background and had never run a business before.

In the initial years, I had to perform every role myself: sales, operations, recruitment, delivery, finance, and team building. Wearing multiple hats simultaneously while ensuring consistent performance and also planning for future growth was one of the biggest challenges.

Over the years, I learned the importance of delegation, building the right team, creating SOPs, implementing systems, and establishing scalable frameworks that enable a startup to function at a much higher standard. It has been a relentless but incredibly rewarding learning journey.

Hello Mumbai News

How have MSME initiatives and government policies contributed to your startup’s growth? Are there any areas where additional support is needed?

S. Nithish Bharath

MSME initiatives made the registration process much easier and smoother, allowing businesses like ours to get started with confidence.

India’s MSME ecosystem has become significantly stronger through initiatives that encourage entrepreneurship, digital adoption, and startup growth. These policies have created a positive environment for founders to build and scale businesses.

Going forward, continued support through easier access to funding, simplified compliance, mentorship programs, and global market access would further strengthen India’s startup ecosystem.

Hello Mumbai News

Intoday’s competitive market, what strategies have helped you build a sustainable and profitable business?

S. Nithish Bharath

Since we operate in the Talent Acquisition and HR Services industry, it has been an incredible journey of continuous adaptation. Recruitment has evolved tremendously over the years, and so have we.

We have consistently upgraded ourselves in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and identifying candidates based not only on technical skills but also on Persona fit talents, behavioral traits, and long-term potential.

What started as a traditional recruitment firm has now evolved into a company that provides the Top 10% of elite technology talent across India. Today, we also serve international clients who require highly skilled Indian professionals to join immediately, helping them scale faster while enabling us to build a sustainable and profitable business.

Hello Mumbai News

Technology and artificial intelligence are transforming businesses. How are you leveraging digital tools to enhance productivity and customer engagement?

S. Nithish Bharath

As the saying goes, “If you’re not upgraded, you’re outdated.”

In today’s business environment, AI is no longer optional—it is a prerequisite for operating efficiently and staying competitive.

At Proconnxt, we leverage multiple AI tools alongside HI (Human Intelligence). This combination creates a powerful synergy that enables us to deliver more accurate hiring decisions, improve productivity, automate repetitive processes, and provide a much better experience for both clients and candidates.

Technology accelerates our work, while human intelligence ensures every hiring decision remains thoughtful and relationship-driven.

Hello Mumbai News

Access to funding remains a major challenge for many startups. What has your experience been in raising capital or bootstrapping your venture?

S. Nithish Bharath

ProconnXt taken off the ground with ₹0.Even creating our first website was possible because my brother helped me get started. Since then, we have remained a completely bootstrapped company.

Every milestone has been achieved through customer trust, consistent execution, and reinvesting back into the business. We continue to build Pro connxt with the vision of creating a meaningful impact on the world through people and opportunities.

Hello Mumbai News

What advice would you give to aspiring solo entrepreneurs who want to launch their own startups but are hesitant to take the first step?

Intention comes first. Execution comes next.

When I started, I had only the intention to build something of my own. I wasn’t even completely clear about what the business would become.

If you aspire to build something meaningful, don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for the perfect time or perfect circumstances.

Just get started.

You’ll figure things out along the journey, and in my opinion, that real-world experience teaches you far more than any MBA ever can.

Hello Mumbai News

How do you maintain a balance between entrepreneurship, personal well-being, and continuous learning while managing everything independently?

Entrepreneurship is nothing but learning to live with uncertainty every single day while continuing to move toward a larger vision.

Amidst all this uncertainty, one thing should remain constant taking care of your body.

Whether it’s running, weight training, cycling, or playing any sport you enjoy, train your body consistently. A healthy body creates a stronger mind, better emotional balance, and greater resilience.

Personally, fitness has played a major role in helping me navigate uncertainty throughout my entrepreneurial journey.

Take care of your body for one hour every day, and it will take care of you for the remaining twenty-three hours.

Hello Mumbai News

What are your future growth plans, and how do you envision your startup contributing to India’s vision of becoming a global innovation and startup hub?

We are currently focused on highly specialized technology domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Data Visualization.

Our vision is to partner with startups, funded companies, and Fortune enterprises by providing them with the Top 10% of elite technology talent capable of driving innovation and business growth.

Today, we serve clients across India, and our long term vision is to become a trusted global talent partner—connecting the best Indian professionals with organizations across the world while creating more international career opportunities for India’s exceptional talent.

Hello Mumbai News

On the occasion of World MSME Day, what message would you like to share with young entrepreneurs, startup founders, and policymakers about strengthening India’s MSME ecosystem?

India’s MSMEs are not just businesses—they are engines of employment, innovation, and economic growth.

To young entrepreneurs, I would say: Dream boldly, execute consistently, and never underestimate the power of perseverance. Every successful enterprise begins with a single courageous decision.

To policymakers, continued support in simplifying regulations, improving access to capital, encouraging innovation, and enabling global market opportunities will empower millions of MSMEs to compete on the world stage.

Together, entrepreneurs, industry, and government can build an ecosystem where Indian startups not only succeed locally but become globally respected brands.
