Based in Patna, Rashmi Rani currently serves as President (2024–25) of the Inner Wheel Club of Ashiyana, Elect Secretary of the Rotary Club of Pataliputra Advika, an Active Member of the Bihar Council of Women, and Vice President of Nagar Mandal, Danapur, Patna. Through these roles, she has been actively contributing to initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, social welfare, and community development.

Could you Introduce yourself for our readers?
Rashmi Rani:
Sure,My name is Rashmi Rani. I completed my education in the Barauni Refinery Township, Where I grew up in an environment that deeply valued learning and education. My father was an engineer, and in our home there was always a strong emphasis on knowledge, discipline, and the importance of studying. Naturally,
this environment nurtured my own love for learning from a very young age.
Since childhood, I have always felt a deep connection with the underprivileged children around me.I used to encourage them to study and often helped them providing notebooks, books, and other basic learning materials.
Gradually, helping these children became more than just an act of kindness- it became a habit and passion .
After my marriage, I moved to Patna. Even a new city , A Doctor’s family , my commitment to social work continued to grow stronger. I decided to take my efforts further and dedicate myself more seriously to the aise of education and community service.
Today, I work actively to support children from slum communities by organizing free coaching classes, ensuring that they receive the guidance and opportunities they deserve. My goal is to reach as many children as possible and help them build a better future through education. I always try to give my hundred percent to this mission.
Beyond children’s education,
My work also focuses on adult education, care and support for elderly people,and skill development initiatives that help individuals become more independent and confident in their lives.
Another cause that is very close to my heart is raising awareness about cervical cancer.
I actively work to spread awareness about prevention and have also been involved in organizing free cervical cancer vaccination drives for women and girls. For me , ensuring the health and well being of women in our communities is just as important as education.
Throughout this journey, the constant encouragement and support of my husband and children have been my greatest strength. Their belief in my work motivates me to continue serving society with dedication and compassion.
For me , Social service is not just work- it is my passion and commitment to building s’more educated, healthy and empowered society.Small efforts can create meaningful change.

What motivated you to become a social entrepreneur

From my childhood, I always felt a deep concern for the people around me, especially those who were less fortunate. I loved helping and encouraging poor children to study and move forward in life. This desire to make a positive difference in society motivated me to become a social entrepreneur . Though social work and community initiatives, I realised that even small efforts can bring meaningful change and happiness to many lives .

My Journey with the Inner Wheel Club
I would like to share my journey with our Inner Wheel Club and what inspired me to join it. From my childhood, I always felt a deep concern for the education and well-being of underprivileged children around me. I used to encourage them to study and dream of a better future.
When I came to know about the Inner Wheel Club and its dedication to social service, women empowerment, and community welfare, I felt that it was the perfect platform to turn my passion for helping others into meaningful action. Joining this organization gave me the opportunity to work with like-minded women who believe in service above self.

What were the biggest challenges faced when starting our journey as a social entrepreneur
Rashmi Rani :
The biggest challenge at the beginning of my journey as a social entrepreneur was building trust and convincing people that small efforts can create big changes in society. Sometimes resources were limited and balancing family responsibilities with social work was also challenging. However, with determination, support from my family, especially my husband and children, and the encouragement of my fellow Inner Wheel members, I continued my work.
Today, I feel proud to be part of this journey where we are making a positive difference in the lives of many people.

Which achievements in your enter perennial journey are you most proud of.
Rashmi Rani:
In my entrepreneurial journey, I feel proud to have received many awards such as Best Student, Best Teacher, Best President, and Best Club Award. In 2025-26, our club was also recognized at the district level in District 325, Bihar and Jharkhand. My mother-in-law lovingly calls me ‘Mohini’ because she believes that wherever I go, people naturally connect with me and become part of the work I do.

What advice would you give to young women who aspire to become entrepreneur.

My advice to young entrepreneurs is to believe in yourself and your ideas.
Work with passion, dedication, and patience.
Do not be afraid of challenges or failure,
because they teach valuable lessons.
Keep learning and improving every day.
Most importantly, stay focused on your purpose and never give up.

For me, women’s empowerment means
supporting and uplifting other women,
encouraging them to learn, lead, and contribute
to society. When women are empowered, they not only improve their own lives but also strengthen families and communities.
In the social sector, it means working together to educate, support, and create opportunities
for women, so they can stand strong and inspire others.

A woman leader who inspires me is Sudha Murty , of course our role model.Her simplicity, dedication to social service, and commitment to education motivate me a lot. As a social entrepreneur, what are your vision and mission for empowering women entrepreneurs in 2026 and beyond?

As a social entrepreneur, my vision for 2026 and beyond is to create a society where women entrepreneurs are confident, financially independent, and recognized as strong contributors to the economy and social development. I want to see more
women turning their ideas into successful
businesses and becoming leaders in their communities.
These days, I am actively working with SHG groups to promote small skill development
activities. We are training women in broom making, cotton wick (Rui Batti) making, and candle making. Recently, we have also started Makhana packaging.
Through these small initiatives, my aim is to help women become self-reliant and create opportunities for income and dignity in their lives.
