Hello Mumbai News:
Could you please introduce yourself and briefly tell our readers about your entrepreneurial journey?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
Yes Sure,I am Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala, a branding and marketing strategist, entrepreneur, and mentor committed to helping businesses and entrepreneurs build meaningful and sustainable brands.
My journey began with a deep interest in understanding how businesses grow not just through marketing, but through clarity of vision, positioning, and purpose-driven branding. Through my initiative BrandBrews by Jalpanoholic, I have worked with entrepreneurs and start-ups to help them transform ideas into strong brands and scalable businesses.
Over time, I realized that one of the most powerful areas where impact could be created was women entrepreneurship. Many talented women have ideas and capabilities but often lack access to global networks, mentorship, and strategic exposure. This realization led me toward building stronger platforms for women leadership, and today I serve as Senior Vice President of HBL Atrium Women, a global business network that connects and empowers women entrepreneurs across countries.
Hello Mumbai News
What inspired you to launch your start-up/brand, and what was the idea behind it?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
The inspiration came from observing that many entrepreneurs struggle not because they lack talent, but because they lack strategic direction and visibility.
Through BrandBrews, my goal was to help entrepreneurs understand that branding is not just marketing or promotion—it is about building trust, clarity, and long-term value.
As the work evolved, I noticed that women entrepreneurs especially needed stronger networks and global opportunities. That is where HBL Atrium Women comes in. The idea behind Atrium is to create a global space where women leaders can connect, collaborate, and grow beyond geographical boundaries.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
What is the unique selling proposition (USP) of your brand, and who is your primary target audience?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
Our approach focuses on building ecosystems rather than just offering services.
Through HBL Atrium Women, we are creating a global platform for women entrepreneurs, professionals, and leaders where they can exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and access international opportunities.
Our primary audience includes women entrepreneurs, start-ups, business leaders, and women professionals who aspire to grow beyond local markets and connect with a global network.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
What major challenges did you face while building your start-up, and how did you overcome them?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
One of the biggest challenges has been changing mindsets around branding and entrepreneurship, particularly among emerging entrepreneurs.
For women entrepreneurs, another challenge is often limited access to strong business networks and international exposure.
The way forward has been through consistent mentoring, community building, and leadership platforms that help women step confidently into larger ecosystems. Platforms like HBL Atrium Women are designed specifically to bridge these gaps.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
What are the vision and mission of your start-up?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
The vision behind my work has always been to build ecosystems where entrepreneurs, especially women, can grow with clarity and confidence.
Through HBL Atrium Women, the mission is to create a global community where women leaders connect, collaborate, and support each other in building impactful businesses.
It is about creating a space where leadership, entrepreneurship, and global opportunities come together.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
As a woman entrepreneur, how do you believe your start-up can contribute to society and benefit the common people?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
At HBL Atrium Women, empowerment becomes meaningful when it creates real access to global opportunities.
We have already started connecting the dots through our presence across seven regions — India, UAE, Mexico/Central America, Spain, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa. This growing network enables women entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, collaborate internationally, and expand their business horizons.
Our vision is to continue strengthening these connections and gradually expand across all seven continents, creating a truly global ecosystem where women entrepreneurs support and elevate each other.
When women gain access to international networks and opportunities, the impact extends beyond individuals—it strengthens communities, economies, and future generations.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
In what ways is your product or service different from others available in the market?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
What makes HBL Atrium Women unique is that it is not just about networking—it is about preparing women entrepreneurs for global excellence.
The platform includes structured upskilling and upgrading sessions that help women develop leadership capabilities, understand international business environments, and position themselves for global markets.
Our focus is not simply helping women enter markets, but helping them step confidently into markets of global excellence, where businesses grow with strong strategy, standards, and vision.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
Where do you see your start-up in the next five years?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
In the coming years, we envision HBL Atrium Women evolving into a strong global corridor for women entrepreneurs.
We have already begun building a corridor-ready platform that connects women entrepreneurs across countries, enabling cross-border collaboration, partnerships, and market access.
Over the next five years, we aim to expand this ecosystem further, bringing together women leaders from more regions and creating global business pathways for women-led enterprises.
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
What marketing strategies are you using to promote and grow your brand?
Dr. (Hon) Jalpan Lala:
Our growth strategy is rooted in thought leadership, strategic collaborations, and community building.
We actively engage through professional platforms like LinkedIn, leadership forums, mentoring sessions, and international collaborations. By sharing insights, conversations, and success stories, we aim to build meaningful visibility for women entrepreneurs and leadership platforms like HBL Atrium Women.
