Prajakta Verma Appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner of BMC
Mumbai: Senior IAS officer Smt. Prajakta Verma (IAS: 2001 batch) has been appointed as the Additional Municipal Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM/BMC) as part of the latest administrative reshuffle undertaken by the Maharashtra Government

Verma, a seasoned bureaucrat with extensive experience in public administration and governance, will assume a key leadership role in India’s richest civic body. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is responsible for managing essential civic services, urban infrastructure, public health, sanitation, water supply, and development works across Mumbai.
Her appointment comes at a crucial time when the city administration is focusing on major infrastructure projects, urban development initiatives, monsoon preparedness, and the enhancement of public services for Mumbai’s residents.
Known for her administrative expertise and efficient governance, Verma has served in several important positions during her distinguished career in the Indian Administrative Service. Her experience is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the functioning of the civic administration and improving service delivery in the country’s financial capital.
