Sanjita Mohapatra Appointed as New Municipal Commissioner of Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad

MUMBAI – In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra State Government has officially transferred Sanjita Mohapatra (IAS) to the post of Municipal Commissioner of the Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad City Municipal Corporation.

The official order, dated April 2, 2026, was issued by Subhash Umranikar, Joint Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra.

Key Appointments and Transitions

According to the notification from the General Administration Department (GAD), the following changes are effective immediately:

  • Sanjita Mohapatra, who was previously serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zilla Parishad in Amravati, will take over the reins in Sangli.

  • She succeeds Satyam Gandhi (IAS), who has been reassigned to Mohapatra’s former position in Amravati.

 

Directives for Immediate Handover

The government has instructed Mohapatra to hand over her current responsibilities to an officer designated by the Divisional Commissioner of Amravati and proceed to join her new post at the earliest.

The order also outlined several administrative mandates for the transitioning officers:

  • System Updates: Officers must update their joining reports on the ‘Supremo’ system and ensure the ER Sheet posting columns are accurately filled.

  • Performance Reviews: Confidential Performance Appraisal Reports (PAR) for previous subordinates must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

  • Digital Governance: A specific emphasis has been placed on increasing the usage of e-Office and e-HRMS systems in the new postings.
