Dr Usha Nair | Disease Reversal Coach | Author | Founder – Medix Metier Healthcare | Mumbai

Hello Mumbai News:

1. Could you please introduce yourself and briefly tell our readers about your entrepreneurial journey?

Dr Usha Nair

My name is Dr Usha Nair from Mumbai, and I am a Disease Reversal Expert, Holistic Health Coach, Author of the book “Gene Based Life,” and Founder of Medix Metier Healthcare.

With over three decades of experience in healthcare, I hold a Doctor of Science, PhD, and MBA in Hospital Administration, along with training in Naturopathy, Meditation, Yoga, and Medical Laboratory Technology. I am also a speaker at the United Nations CSW Forums and a permanent representative for a Human Rights NGO in special consultative status with UN-ECOSOC, advocating for health awareness and women’s empowerment.

My entrepreneurial journey began as a reseller of healthcare brands and specialised wellness services. However, a turning point came in 2022, when mentorship from a business and sales coach encouraged me to build my personal brand and register my enterprise under Udyam. This transition led to the creation of Medix Metier Healthcare and the publication of my book “Gene Based Life,” India’s first practical book on Nutrigenomics, sharing real-life transformation stories.

My work focuses on empowering individuals—especially women—to move from being passive recipients of healthcare to becoming active participants in their own well-being. I strongly believe that true vitality arises from purpose, conscious choices, and sustainable daily habits.

My vision is simple: healthier individuals, stronger families, and ultimately more empowered societies.

Hello Mumbai News:

What inspired you to launch your start-up/brand, and what was the idea behind it?

Dr Usha Nair

I founded Medix Metier Healthcare in 2022 with the vision of providing a 360-degree, single-window solution for health optimisation and well-being.

Today, many individuals struggle with lifestyle diseases, stress, and dependency on medication without receiving comprehensive guidance on prevention or lifestyle transformation. My aim was to create a structured, holistic support system that helps individuals reclaim their health and move toward a renewed, rejuvenated, and potentially medicine-free life wherever possible.

In addition to working with individuals, I also collaborate with corporate organisations to improve employee health and productivity. I operate through a 3P Framework: Prevention, Performance, and Presence, which focuses on improving employee wellbeing while reducing absenteeism.

I firmly believe that wellbeing drives performance, and when individuals are equipped with the right knowledge and habits, both personal health and organisational productivity improve.

Hello Mumbai News:

What is the unique selling proposition (USP) of your brand, and who is your primary target audience?

Dr Usha Nair

My work emphasises informed health decisions and personalised lifestyle strategies.

While not every illness may be reversible and medication cannot always be eliminated, it is often possible to reduce dependency on medication and significantly improve quality of life under appropriate medical guidance.

I support individuals in making conscious, evidence-based lifestyle choices that help them live healthier and more empowered lives.

My primary audience includes:

* Individuals facing lifestyle disorders, more specifically morbid obesity, chronic diabetes, anxiety & depression among youth
* Health-conscious professionals
* Women seeking preventive and holistic healthcare solutions
* Corporate leaders interested in workforce wellbeing

Hello Mumbai News:

What major challenges did you face while building your start-up, and how did you overcome them?

Dr Usha Nair

Building a startup as a first-generation solopreneur is both challenging and deeply rewarding.

One of the biggest challenges was learning the fundamentals of business—from branding and marketing to systems and financial sustainability. Healthcare expertise alone is not enough; entrepreneurship requires an entirely different skill set.

With guidance from a business mentor and sales coach, I began understanding how to structure the different verticals of a business while maintaining a unified vision.

Even today, the journey continues. As a solopreneur, balancing service delivery, marketing, operations, and growth requires constant learning. My philosophy remains simple:

“Be a lifelong learner. Progress may be slow, but consistency and clarity of purpose always move you forward.”

Hello Mumbai News:

What are the vision and mission of your start-up?

Dr Usha Nair

My vision is to positively impact the health of one million individuals by 2030.

The mission of Medix Metier Healthcare is to help individuals adopt simple, sustainable, and holistic lifestyle practices that support optimal health and long-term wellbeing.

The goal is to enable people to live healthier, stress-free, energetic, and purpose-driven lives, while embracing simplicity and mindful living.

Hello Mumbai News:

As a woman entrepreneur, how do you believe your start-up contributes to society?

Dr Usha Nair

My work is deeply rooted in personal experience and practice. The strategies I recommend are the same principles that have positively transformed my own life and the lives of people close to me.

This inspired me to expand my work beyond family and friends to reach local, national, and global audiences.

Many individuals today are searching for a structured path to reclaim their vitality and live life fully. My role is to help them rediscover their energy, develop healthy habits, and move from being unfit to permanently fit through informed choices.

Ultimately, if individuals transform their health, families and communities benefit as well.

Hello Mumbai News:

In what ways is your service different from others in the market?

Dr Usha Nair

One of the distinctive aspects of my work is the use of gene-based diagnostics and personalised health strategies.

This approach helps identify an individual’s genetic strengths, vulnerabilities, and metabolic tendencies, allowing us to design customised lifestyle, nutrition, supplementation and wellbeing strategies.

The programmes integrate physical health, emotional balance, and mindset transformation, creating a comprehensive framework for disease prevention and potential reversal.

I also integrate innovative wellness technologies and niche therapies, many of which represent emerging approaches in future healthcare models.

Hello Mumbai News:

Where do you see your start-up in the next five years?

Dr Usha Nair

Over the next five years, my goal is to expand the reach of Medix Metier Healthcare globally while maintaining personalised impact.

Through a combination of digital platforms, educational programmes, and strategic collaborations, I aim to help transform the lives of one million individuals by 2030.

My international engagement has already begun through global conferences and UN platforms, and I see significant opportunities to bring Indian holistic healthcare wisdom to global audiences.

Hello Mumbai News:

What marketing strategies are you using to grow your brand?

Dr Usha Nair

My growth strategy is based primarily on credibility, education, and community engagement.

Over the years, I have built a strong network of contacts who trust my work. I regularly engage audiences through:

* Health awareness sessions and webinars
* Social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and WhatsApp
* Professional networks and conferences
* Knowledge talks in social and corporate communities

For me, trust and integrity are the most powerful marketing tools. When people experience genuine transformation, word-of-mouth naturally expands the reach.
