Senior IAS Officer Tukaram Mundhe Appointed as Commissioner of Food and Drugs Administration, Mumbai
MUMBAI: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Government of Maharashtra has officially transferred senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Shri. Tukaram Mundhe. According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department on May 19, 2026, Mundhe has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Mumbai.
The post has been upgraded to a super-time pay scale specifically for his appointment. He succeeds Shri. Shridhar Dube, IAS, at the helm of the department.
Immediate Takeover Ordered
The official letter, signed by Subhash Umranikar, Joint Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra, explicitly instructs Mundhe to take immediate charge of his new responsibilities.
“The government has transferred you and appointed you to the post of Commissioner, Food and Drugs Administration, Mumbai… You are requested to accept the charge of your new position immediately,” the letter states.
