Mumbai: .Mumbai Lions Club of Sion – Hunger – distributed food grains to 350 Daily Wage labourer families through *Mutthi Anaaj Daan Project* at Sion-Chunabatti
Mumbai: Mumbai Lions Club of Sion-Hunger, undertook the distribution of Foodgrains comprising – 5kg Rice and 2kg Tur Dal at Shakti Maidan, Sion,
Chunabhatti, Mumbai-400022
last Sunday, 19th April, at 4 pm through *Mutthi Anaaj Daan* Project.
At this distribution, notably, as many as 350 needy and deserving families of the Daily wage labourers during the time of COVID- 19 lockdown benefitted.
These families were identified with help of local sources under the supervision of Mr. Mahesh Nalave (Campus Manager at SNDT College Matunga) and his Team.
Mr Anil J also contributed for arrangement of requisite permissions.
Remarkably, Lion Pramod Dalmia, Past President, initiated this Hunger Project with blessings of Lion Dr Ashok Mehta and Lion Dr Bharat Pathak.
Many Lions with their family and friends helped and supported in arranging for the contributions.
Lions Club of Chunnabhati also contributed for 30 families.
The motive behind the distribution was to help a family of four for their 15 days need of three square meals a day thus organising 63000 meals for them in total.
Thanks goes out to Lion Dr Ashok Mehta and Rotarian Manoj Gursahani for their kind help in getting the food grains on time with APMC market being shut totally.

The distribution followed all hygienic process, social distancing, with beneficiaries called in time slots to avoid gathering.
Even a few members went to their door steps especially to the aged who could not physically manage to make it to the venue. This was done with the help of local volunteers.
The total Project Cost towards the project was Rs 1,05,000/-.*
The Club wished that this Pandemic would go away soon and everything gets restored to normalcy. However, if required, in near future, the Club may also come forward again to help the needy.
