*The financial capital of India, Mumbai has been detrimental due to the pathetic condition of roads caused due to the potholes formed during yearly monsoon rains. Many casualties are hapeing due to these potholes on roads & many have been injured permanently. This figure crosses the figure of casualties during terrorist attacks in Mumbai. This is very pathetic. Public Works Department (Roads) & Greater Mumbai Municipal Corporation of Grester Mumbai is accountable to these losses and casualties. Taking this matter into account & owing to information provided by a political leader claiming 20000 potholes in city published in popular newspapers Daily Maharashtra Times , Daily Pudhari & Daily Sakaal , RPI (A) Rojgaar Aghadi’s Gen. Secretary Shree. Navin Lade registered this figure of potholes in Guinness book of Records at their website www.guinnessworldrecords.com on 16th of July 2018 at 00.00 hours & requested to issue certificate in the names of Maharashtra Government & authorities of Municipal Corporation . In response to this application he received a reply mail by the said site on 16th of July 2018 at 23.56 hrs. Then after on 17 th July 2018 at 14.48 hrs. Shree. Navin Lade applied to India Book of Records at their website (www.indiabookofrecords.in) & on 17th July 2018 at 16.45hrs. he applied for the same to Limka Book of Records at their website (www.limcabookofrecords.in ) He received a response mail from Limca Book of Records 17 July 2018 at 17.58 hrs. Shree. Lade also applied at Golden Books of Record at their website (http://goldenbookofrecords.com ) on 29th July 2018 at 20.12 hrs. & also at World Record India at their website . (www.worldrecordsindia.com ) at 13.15 hrs. He got response mail by World record India on 29th July 13.25 hrs.*
*In response to his campaign for Pothole Free Mumbai’, initiated from 17th July 2018, in which he appealed to send images of potholes on his whatsapp contact* *number 96640017777 or on his email id–* *navinlade@gmail.com or at the website http://mumbaipotholes .com., some Mumbai citizens personally & also organizations like Rising Star, Prakashwadi Kaamabaug Co. Operative society (Wing- A), PanchSheel Sevasangh (Reg.)Mumbai & also Proprietor of Sigma Enterprises Shree. Satish Jadhav sent him images of potholes with the assistance of 17 youngsters grp. on Shree. Lade’s whatsapp no, email & given website.*
*These all individuals and entities registered a record of 26, 934 potholes within 38 days during 17 th July to 23 August 2018. on the names of Public Works Department Maharashtra Government (Roads) And & Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Shree. Ajay Mehta who are responsible for these potholes and casualties happening because of their poor maintenance , these records were submitted to at 19.27 hrs.To Guinness Book , at 20.13 hrs. to Limka Book, at 21.05 hrs. to India Book , at 20.22 hrs to World Record India & Golden Book of Records at 20.13 on 23rd August 2018.*
*In a short span of 38 days ,uploading of 26934 images on the website is kind of record done by Mumbai citizens about collection of images of potholes. Mumbaikars are still sending images & thus the is figure is rising day by day. Stating his intentions behind this campaign to not to malign the image of Mumbai but to make Mumbai pothole free permanently , in order to curb the immense losses of lives & casualties caused, damages of vehicles, wastage of time and fuel & considering the pollution levels , being a citizen of Mumbai, it’s his strong urge to make Mumbai pothole hole free which is a favourite tourist destination across the world, campaign has been initiated by him to make Mumbai pothole free & to construct roads adopting advance technology. He is determinant to register these figures in the mentioned popular record books & demands a certificate in the names of Public Works Department Maharashtra Government (Roads) & Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Shree. Ajay Mehta who are responsible for these potholes and accidents happening because of their negligence. On 24th August 2018, Navin Lade also demanded to Secretary of Public Works Department Maharashtra Government (Roads) & Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation to verify the website & to fill potholes before to make Mumbai Pothole free permanently & construct the roads implementing latest technology.*
*In his demand letter, Navin Lade mentions that with 26934 number of uploaded images of potholes on the said website, the claims made by Mumbai Municipal Corporation that Mumbai has only 300 potholes & their attempts to fill potholes have turned futile with the huge number of potholes surging out. The Corporation should not waste people’s money in potholes ,which has been raised out of levying various taxes on them. Because through the website-https://mumbaipotholes.com which has been started free of cost by web designer Rajesh Soni , to promote this campaign, citizens are now aware of the of the hollow claims made by Municipal Corporation of Grester Mumbai In the meanwhile, Navin Lade has been praised by the Office bearers of India book of Records Shree. A. K Chatterjee during an interview given to an English daily, who admitted his primary approval via email for the registration of this Campaign. Shree Chatterjee commented that the Municipal Corporation should take into account the attempts made by Lade and also stated that the quality of roads should be upgraded and expressed his full support to Lades campaign as a notable social cause. He also hoped that it will create awareness among common citizens and thus will pressurize government to fill up the pits Ad. Nitin Satpute while disclosing the images collected by Navin Lade expressed his anguish that it is ironic to see potholes in front of Mumbai High Court which itself imparts justice to citizens.*
