Prostitution Racket Busted at Ibis Hotel, Thane; Four Women Rescued, Three Arrested
Thane ,19 December: A prostitution racket allegedly involving Bollywood models was busted by Vartak Nagar Police at Ibis hotel on Pokhran road no 1 Thane. During the raid four women have been rescued and three arrested including one lady pimp.Among these accused one Practicing lawyer of Bombay High Court also arrested.
The operation was carried out on the basis of information provided by social activist Dr. Binu Varghese, who informed authorities about this sex racket.
As per preliminary investigations, the women were allegedly charging up to ₹75,000 per hour. All four rescued women are residents of Lokhandwala, Andheri, police sources said.
Based on the tip-off, the matter was brought to the attention of DCP Prashant Kadam (Zone-5), who ordered immediate action. Acting on his directions, Senior Police Inspector Pravin Mane constituted a team led by Police Inspector Vithal Choughule, along with police personnel, to conduct the raid at the hotel.
During the raid, the police rescued four women and arrested the female pimp along with her male associate. Another accused, identified as Mona Mondal, is currently absconding and has been declared wanted in the case.
The case has been registered at Vartak Nagar Police Station, which has jurisdiction over the area.
” we have booked all accused under Sections 143(3) and 3 (5) of the Bhartiya Naya Sanhita 2023,and Sections 4 ,5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act,1956.” Said one of the officer attached to Vartak Nagar Police station.
As if now in this Fir Three accused named, have been arrested,Anju alias,Namita Suresh Chandra Naik, Ashish Sanjay Mishra and one lady pimp Mona Mondal.All accused sent to Custody for further investigation.
