Sufi Islamic Board”s Assam and Meghalaya chapters participate as partner Spiritual organisation with My Bharat, an initiative of The Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports in a one day ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ conclave organised at the the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong, Meghalaya.

The conclave was aimed to sensitise stakeholders on the adverse impacts of substance abuse, showcase evidence-based best practices and community-driven intervention models, strengthen inter-agency collaboration and mobilise youth as ambassadors of a drug-free India.
The programme featured presentations on the MY Bharat Portal and the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan, followed by thematic sessions on substance abuse prevention and rehabilitation models. Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse, the Secretary of Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Pallavi Jain Govil and the CEO of My Bharat Dr. Priyanka Shukla addressed the conclave.

Representatives from 24 spiritual organisations working in the field of de-addiction and rehabilitation across Northeast India presented best practices and replicable models for substance abuse prevention.

Speaking at the conclave Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse said “We must collectively take forward the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan in mission mode. Our youth are the greatest strength of the nation, and it is our shared responsibility to guide them towards the right direction. If we provide them with positive guidance and opportunities, we will certainly achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047,”
Imran Ahmed, the President of the Assam Chapter of Sufi Islamic Board in his representation said the issue of drugs is most important in the seven North Eastern states because it is an issue of Narco terrorism and these states are on the trade routes of drug cartels. He said that all organizations working actively against drug abuse should unite under the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ theam and help each other in all the parts of the seven states.

National President Mansoor Khan said that he was impressed wth the presentation of F G Kharshiing, the Mission Director of Drug Reduction , Elimination and Action Mission (DREAMS) from the Social Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya and said that he intends to work on his model in the seven North Eastern states.
The conclave culminated with a collective Nasha Mukti Pledge Ceremony reaffirming commitment towards building a drug-free society
