Hyderabad to Host Global Startup Summit 2026 on September 19, Bringing Founders and Investors Together

Hello Mumbai Event Listing Desk

The 22nd edition brings entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and ecosystem enablers from across India to Hyderabad for a day of conversations, connections and opportunities.

Past summit moments from Global Startup Summit.

Hyderabad, September 2026: The Global Startup Summit Hyderabad 2026 will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Hotel Deccan Serai Grande, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Now in its 22nd edition, the summit has grown into a national meeting point for founders, investors, business owners, CXOs, professionals and ecosystem leaders. The Hyderabad edition is designed around something founders increasingly value: access – to people, ideas, capital, markets and conversations that can continue long after the event. While Hyderabad is the host city, the summit is expected to draw participants from startup and business communities across India.

Hyderabad as a National Meeting Point

Hyderabad has steadily built one of India’s most active technology and entrepreneurship ecosystems, with fast-growing startups, investors, professional firms and new-age businesses. That makes it a natural host for a summit intended to connect people beyond their immediate local networks.

Participants from Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and emerging business centres are expected to add to the summit’s national character. For founders travelling to Hyderabad, the value lies not only in attending sessions, but in meeting people they may not otherwise encounter in their home markets. More Than Just Business Cards

Networking events are easy to organise. Meaningful networking is harder. The Global Startup Summit focuses on creating an environment where a founder can meet an investor, a growing company can discover a market partner, an entrepreneur can find an advisor and businesses from different sectors can find reasons to work together.

Key conversations include: fundraising and investor readiness; scaling across markets; startup finance and capital; technology and innovation; partnerships and collaborations; mentorship; market access; and the changing Indian startup ecosystem.

Past summit moments: panel conversations and startup showcase interactions.

An Ecosystem, Not Just an Event

The Hyderabad edition is co-powered by Red Mammoth Ventures. Mojo Capital joins the ecosystem with its focus on fundraising, consulting and growth support, while Global Startups Club continues to connect founders, investors and professionals through its community.

The wider ecosystem also includes FundGini, ICEx PRO, Tracxn, Bombay Juris Law Offices, Suyash Tripathi & Co.

Chartered Accountants, Sayzio, Webtactic, MyStartupValley, Gamezon.store, Keraology, 3X Events, Shaadi Vibez and House & Habit. The mix reflects how founders today need more than capital alone – they need legal, financial, technology, marketing, research and business support at different stages of growth.

Where Founders Meet Capital

Fundraising remains an important theme, but the conversation around capital has changed. Investors are asking harder questions about revenue, margins, customer acquisition, scalability and sustainable growth, while founders need clearer insight into how businesses are evaluated.

The summit offers both sides something digital communication cannot fully replicate: a direct conversation. A founder from a smaller city may gain access to a national investor; a business operating in one region may discover a partner for another market; an advisor may connect with companies beyond their usual network. Who Should Attend?

Startup founders & entrepreneurs – seeking capital, partnerships, visibility and market access  |  Investors & investment professionals – looking to discover founders and businesses  |  Business owners & CXOs – exploring innovation, collaborations and expansion  |  Professionals & advisors – across finance, legal, consulting, marketing and specialist services  |  Ecosystem enablers – including incubators, accelerators and community builders StartupNews.fyi as Official Media Partner

StartupNews.fyi joins the Global Startup Summit Hyderabad 2026 as Official Media Partner, covering conversations, developments and stories emerging from the summit and the wider startup ecosystem. Event Details

Global Startup Summit 2026 – Hyderabad | 22nd Edition

Saturday, September 19, 2026 | Hotel Deccan Serai Grande, Gachibowli, Hyderabad | Full-Day Startup & Business Summit

Registration: https://summit.globalstartups.club/

Hyderabad may be the host city, but the summit is designed to represent the wider Indian startup ecosystem – and sometimes the most valuable outcome is the conversation that begins outside the stage.

₹1,000 to ₹10,000 App Loans: What the Processing Fee Does to Your Effective Annual Rate

₹1,000 to ₹10,000 App Loans: What the Processing Fee Does to Your Effective Annual Rate

 Hello Mumbai Business Desk

Small loans through mobile apps have made borrowing genuinely easy. A few thousand rupees can reach your account within minutes. The interest rate shown often looks reasonable. What most borrowers do not check is the processing fee, and on very small, very short loans, that fee does something surprising to the actual cost. Here is how the maths works.

Why Small-Ticket Loans Are Different

On a ₹5 lakh loan repaid over five years, a processing fee of 2% is spread across 60 instalments. It adds to the cost but does not transform it.

On a ₹5,000 loan repaid in 30 days, the same percentage fee is spread across a single repayment. The effect on the annual cost is completely different, because the fee is charged once but the loan lasts only a few weeks.

This is why comparing small loans by interest rate alone gives you the wrong answer. Whether you are looking at a 1000 instant loan or a ₹10,000 advance, the fee structure deserves more attention than the rate.

A Simple Worked Example

Suppose you borrow ₹5,000 for 30 days. The lender charges interest of ₹100 and a processing fee of ₹150 plus applicable GST.

You receive around ₹4,823 after the fee is deducted. At the end of 30 days you repay ₹5,100.

Your total cost is about ₹277 on money you actually held for one month. As a percentage of the amount you received, that is roughly 5.7% for 30 days.

Annualised, that works out to a far higher figure than the headline interest rate suggested. The interest was small. The fee did most of the work.

The Rule of Thumb

The shorter the tenure, the more a fixed fee inflates the effective annual cost.

The same ₹150 fee on a 30-day loan costs you far more in annual terms than on a 90-day loan, because you are paying it for a much shorter period of use.

This is why regulators ask lenders to disclose the annual percentage rate, or APR, which combines interest and fees into a single comparable number.

What to Check Before You Accept a Small Loan

  1. Thedisbursal amount, not the sanctioned amount

Check exactly how much will reach your bank account after deductions. If you need ₹5,000 in hand, you may have to borrow slightly more.

  1. Thetotal repayment amount

One number tells you almost everything: what you will repay in total on the due date. Compare that figure across lenders, not the interest rate.

  1. TheAPR

A compliant lender will show the annual percentage rate before you accept the loan. If you cannot find it, treat that as a warning sign.

  1. Latepayment charges

Small loans often carry flat late fees that are large relative to the loan amount. A single missed due date can cost more than the original interest.

  1. Whetherthe lender is RBI-registered

Check that the app names the regulated lender behind it. Products such as an mpokket loan are offered by registered entities that must disclose charges clearly, follow fair recovery practices and report to credit bureaus properly.

Warning Signs Worth Taking Seriously

The app asks for access to your contacts, photos or call logs.

Charges are not shown in full before you accept.

The lender behind the app is not named anywhere.

You are pressured to accept a larger amount than you asked for.

Repayment terms change after disbursal.

How These Loans Affect Your Credit Report

Registered lenders report small loans to credit bureaus, exactly as they do larger ones. A repaid loan builds your record. A missed due date damages it.

Repeated small borrowings in quick succession can also work against you. Lenders reviewing a future application see a pattern of frequent short-term credit, which suggests the monthly budget is under strain.

When a Small App Loan Makes Sense

Used correctly, these loans solve a real problem. They work well when the amount is small, the need is genuine, and you are certain you can repay on the due date.

They work badly as a way to cover a shortfall that repeats every month. If you find yourself borrowing to repay a previous loan, the loan is no longer solving the problem. It has become the problem.

If the requirement is recurring or larger than a few thousand rupees, a regular personal loan with a longer tenure and a reducing balance rate usually works out cheaper than repeatedly taking short-term app loans.

Conclusion

On small, short loans the processing fee matters more than the interest rate. Always compare the total repayment amount and the APR, confirm what will actually reach your account, and borrow only what you can clear on the due date.

Read the fee line before you read the rate line. On a loan this small and this short, that is where almost all of your actual cost is hiding.

Goa’s Third-Front Moment? Sardesai, Viegas Share Platform at Patkar’s Teachers’ Town Hall

Hello Mumbai Goa Desk

MARGAO: Goa’s political landscape appears to be witnessing the early signs of a new political realignment ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.

The Teachers’ Town Hall organised by former Goa Congress president Amit Patkar in Margao on Sunday saw Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai and AAP Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas share the stage with Patkar while discussing issues concerning Goa’s education sector.

The coming together of Patkar, Sardesai and Viegas on a common platform has fuelled speculation that a third-front alliance could be in the making ahead of the 2027 elections.

The optics of the three leaders sharing the stage at Patkar’s initiative have added a new dimension to Goa’s political landscape, raising questions over whether this could be the beginning of a broader political understanding.

Suicide Prevention Month initiative brings lived experiences and mental health experts together in Mumbai

As part of Suicide Prevention Month, a panel discussion and awareness seminar titled “Change the Narrative on Suicide – Ask a Question. Save a Life.” was held on September 3 at the College of Home Science, Nirmala Niketan, Churchgate, Mumbai, bringing together mental health professionals and individuals with lived experience to encourage conversations around mental health, suicide prevention and timely support.

The programme, “Change the Narrative on Suicide – Ask a Question. Save a Life,” was organised by Deepjyoti India Foundation, The Connect Hut, Ankahee, Color Positive and WICCI – Holistic Child Development Council, Maharashtra, with the support of Nirmala Niketan.

The initiative focused on creating a space where conversations around suicide could move beyond stigma and silence. Through expert insights and personal experiences, the programme highlighted the importance of listening without judgement, recognising signs of emotional distress and helping individuals access appropriate support.
A distinctive feature of the programme was the Lived Experience Panel, which brought together Kaynaat Khan, Yogi Rani, Dishank Tak, Rashmi Sundaram and Sunny Rodgers. The panel offered personal perspectives on resilience, identity, mental health, challenges and hope.

Mumbai Hosts Suicide Prevention Month Initiative Bringing Lived Experiences and Mental Health Experts TogetherThe Suicide Prevention Awareness Panel featured Sachin Chitambaran, Co-Founder, Ankahee and Founder, The Connect Hut; Mona Doctor, Integrated Wellbeing Consultant and Co-Founder, The Integral Space; and Dr. Seetharaman Iyer, Consultant Psychiatrist and Chief Consultant, UANA Mind Wellness Center. Lisa Pais, Counselling Psychologist, moderated the expert panel, while Anupama Kotiankar, mental health professional and counsellor, moderated the lived-experience panel.

Mumbai Hosts Suicide Prevention Month Initiative Bringing Lived Experiences and Mental Health Experts TogetherThe discussions emphasised that suicide prevention requires more than awareness—it requires conversations, connection and access to the right support. Participants explored how families, friends, educators, workplaces and communities can create safer environments where people feel able to speak about what they are experiencing.
The programme also highlighted the importance of asking difficult questions with care rather than avoiding conversations out of fear or discomfort. The central message of the initiative, “Ask a Question. Save a Life,” encouraged participants to recognise that a simple, compassionate conversation can be an important first step towards support.
The event brought together professionals, young people, community members and organisations working towards greater mental health awareness and suicide prevention, reinforcing the need for continued dialogue and collaborative action beyond Suicide Prevention Month.
The message was clear: conversations that care can help create minds and communities that heal.
